Mixer - Selected Channel Highlight

Too many times, I have made adjustments to the wrong channel strip because my eyes can't keep track of which channel is selected. What I thought was the correct channel was in fact to the left or the right of the glowing blue border, not the actual correct channel.

This is because every channel looks exactly the same and the pattern of knobs is so noisy and repetitive that it plays tricks on my eyes. The channel strips should be gently zebra striped and reduced in brightness. Only the selected track(s) should be bright and highlighted like they are in the current version(s).
