MIDI Mapping GUI

All I want to do is setup some devices to react to different midi channels.
They only respond to one channel.
I have checked everything a thousand times, it's correct according to what it says I need to do, but it always fails.
If we're meant to control this program with hardware, make it possible to do so easily.
I want the ability to design midi mappings using an in-app interface.
The entire program is object-oriented, just make the parameters necessary visible with some text inputs. Simple.
Please, please.
This experience has been horrible.
And I'm smart enough to know I'm not doing anything incorrectly.
I even created my own diagnostic routine that proves I'm doing things right.
Imagine others that either have or will struggle more than I have, only to discover they aren't wrong, the program seems to be.
FIX THIS. MAKE THIS EASIER.
