Death by a Thousand Cuts

Have any feature requests? No promise they'll get to Reason Studios, but you can still discuss them here.

But main feature for me is Reason as ReWire master.

This is a freakin must!!!!! It's really horrible if you think about it. Props invented rewire yet their own product can't be a rewire master. If I'm working on a track in Reason and I want to use melodyne; I now have to open another DAW and setup rewire from Reason to that DAW then open melodyne. Its a huge waste of time and pretty pathetic!

A toggle button for 'Auto Group Devices And Tracks' on the transport bar.
I say this because I often toggle the thing on and off with the hot keys for moving things around. But I never know whether I left it toggled on or off. A little toggle LED on the bottom could show this and do away with lots of undo's.

"73. Clips: comp mode for MIDI recording"

Why oh Prop Gods have you decided not to make this possible?
Even a simple functionality would do?
What's the rationale for not allowing the smooth workflow you get when loop recording and having takes automatically created for each iteration?

I miss that functionality as well. I really have no good workaround for it atm.

Drag and drop midi on to existing track.  Change instrument on a track. All DAWs do this.

I think you can change instrument on a track by drag and dropping a patch/instrument from the browser on that track.

I never do that though, so I'm not sure.

This is a rather small improvement for the Combinator : I would love to have a "snap to scale" function for the rotaries. When you only have 5 values to select from, the rotary should snap to those values (have 5 fixed positions in that case).

As I said, just a small improvement...

I'd like to request keyswitching as a source (like "Button 1" etc.) in the combinator programmer.

First thread I've seen with feature requests that actually make sense. Really wish Propellerhead would implement most, if not all of this stuff.

This information is like a focus group that companies pay for, Props would have to be mad to not be reading it, or paying some hipster to read it all and come back with a summary.

This thread is too long to go through right not but it's a little thing that bears attention.

If I'm recording audio, I want the playhead to be able to go back to where I started, ESPECIALLY if I use ctrl/z to delete what I just did ;)

Sweet baby Zeus, why have they done this for audio but not midi? It is absolutely bewildering that it is still not here in reason 9. How is this not the most wanted feature out of any and all possible features? For years and years and hour after hour after hour each and every single time I have ever used reason, I have thought to myself why oh why is there no MIDI comp editing? I mean we can't be the only ones who immediately recognizes how useful that would be and how frustrating it is that it's not there, can we?

Please, please, please, pretty please allow us to host a video file inside of Reason, on a track, so when we need to compose for film, we can get down to the millisecond timing and not have to export tracks from Reason, then slide them left and right inside of a separate DAW. One reason for not being able to compose well to film in Reason is due to no video file playback. We don't need to edit the video, just play it back. ReSync and the other player are NEVER in time and any adjustments are different every time we use the outside video player. Please? Please?

No idea why this has never be considered and put into the program. Current options are clunky and or just suck balls!

Sorry, don't know what I was on about here. This is step entry and you can use the players apparently to copy notes / steps to track somehow.

It would be nice if there was an Re to rewire another daw into Reason though but yeah, the Props need to add Rewire master to Reason. Like people have said, it's their product.

Wanted to ask though...what is Exponential Envelope Mode for Thor? Googled but couldn't really find anything.

It was actually unpinned because it hasn't been updated in quite some time and is very out-of-date (close to three years now).

Well I wouldn't say outdated because most of what is on it is constantly being requested! First I've seen of it! If it was kept pinned there wouldn't be a wash of threads pushing new requests down.

Well it is outdated and much that is on the list has been implemented. It's misleading. There are other collective threads in which users contribute their most wanted features.

Maybe someday it will be updated. Or if someone else would like to start a new thread and take on the upkeep of the first post, we can pin that.

Definitly outdated, 2 items under Remote short of what is missing.
