I bought Cubase elements just so I could have this (plus it can pull audio from video lightning fast). Yes I could just hit record, but I'm human.

Logic has had this feature since it was Notator on the Atari in the late 1980s.

I also wish Reason had this feature.
I use this in the meantime https://www.birdsthings.com/midi-cap
It needs to be added on a per-instrument basis, so I just keep it on the piano in my template since that's where I'm most likely to be noodling and forget to record

My Fantom-S even has retrospective sampling but I've never used it that way. If Reason had it I'd use it all the time. But you say Logic has it? Any guidance you can provide in short?
