I wanna see my whole song!

I could list a load of gripes about audio editing in Reason, which is so weak its shameful considering how long since Record came out and went out and so on. But the one thing that really, REALLY sucks is that if you're working on a track that's 1/2 hr long at 120BPM or editing recordings that are, say, 1.5 hrs long, you can't see the whole thing. You can't actually zoom out far enough to see the whole song, clip, what have you. There's no zoom out to fit the clip, no nothing. Even Audacity, which is FREE can do this. And I really just want to know why this limitation even exists? This combined with all the other stupid zoom limitations is so half assed its... Just so fucking half assed! 

Anyway, roll on R9 i guess.

I agree with the feature request. Being able to view the entire song's length would be really nice. Also, and since we're at it, I'd like to be able to zoom in horizontally and vertically to be able to have one clip take up the entire sequencer window (similar to the ProTools function fit to screen). Meanwhile I find I am able to zoom out quite quickly to maximum zoomout level by using the mousewheel and modifier keys. Zooming in is still pretty strange, I haven't quite found out how to do it smoothly and intuitively. As it is now, tere's a lot of scrolling involved, which really spoils the fun a bit.

Yes, there is quite some work in that field to better the workflow for editing. Lets hope for cloud 9...

I've come across this trying to edit a 45 min track. I agree it could be better but maybe there's an even cleverer way to manage long files.
