Here is the Guess The Synth #? Huh? I dunno.

Farty sounding, so maybe complex1?

Tritone, would you mind updating the OP with the synths used itt?

I would if I could. Unfortunately the current system on RT doesn't allow one to do so. You're only able to change/update posts for a short while after the initial post.

Ah, I didn't know, been away for a while. Good to see a new synth guessing thread, though!

It is not Complex-1.

Ha! Farty sounding! I suppose so. I can actually "throttle" this instrument to sound more or less like the real thing. It has been a while since I looked at this one.

Some more examples with characteristics specific to given synth would be useful.

Here is a audio file with three different samples with changes I made to the original sound.
The first sample I changed an oscillator from a square wave modified by pulse width to a triangle wave; the second sample I bypassed a filter; the third sample, you'll have to figure/guess that one.

Here is another sample of the synth, not from the original sound.

Hint: This is not my voice or any voice.

Hi! I didn't know anybody was still interested in this one.
Well first I'll tell you the last example is a formant filter.

Could it be Rob Papen's Quad synth?

Not Quad Synth.

You are allowed to ask questions to narrow down the choices!

This has at least one analog oscillator.

The hints would also still fit Thor.

Based on this info, the one that comes to mind is Amalgam.

Sounds like you jam-s and Crimsonwarlock are unsure. Are you sure you are unsure? Or are you sure?

 Nothing like a definitive answer!

The synth has at least one phase modulation oscillator.

If one of us named the correct synth, or not, just say so. This is a synth sound game, not a words game :puf_wink:

So, if it is not Amalgam, just say so.

If you want to play it that way: It's Thor, again.

Crimsonwarlock - don't take offense, I wasn't playing a word game. I didn't know if you were giving your answer or not. It didn't sound like you were certain.

At least you guys played! That was the longest guessing game I think have ever played.

The title of this topic is >>> Guess <<< the synth. It is not "tell with 100% certainty which synth this is". It's a guessing game, we don't need to be certain :puf_wink:

Crimsonwarlock - I wasn't asking you to be %100 percent certain you were right, just to give a definite answer. Not the same thing. Yes, I know this is Guess The Synth Challenge. I even on other synths, asked "is it this synth?" or I said it is Thor, or it is Subtractor, or whatever. I wasn't %100 certain I was right, but I gave a definite answer or asked. That is all I meant.

I hope you have a good day. No ill will intended.

I won't reply anymore on this side discussion.
