Just saw this posted on that tube thing and thought it would be a handy thing for users not too familiar with this absolute classic beast of a synth to consume, still probably my fave reason device.

Cool video, but why in the hell would he use a low-res version of Thor to do this video in 2023? When he zooms in, it's a blurry fuzzy mess. Here's his close ups:

Maybe in real life he's still a pre R12 user?

I watched a bit, a few seconds. I liked the animation, the way every section was segmented. So much work? Had to be R11.
Maybe the file was too big, the rendering was in low rez. But, maybe he was using a 720p monochrome monitor and could not tell the difference?
At least the narration was crystal clear 4K audio.

It's very likely he's still using 1080p monitor (like MOST people still do) and zoom simply scales whatever is on screen, so it will be blurry, even with R12.EnochLight wrote: ↑28 Sep 2023Cool video, but why in the hell would he use a low-res version of Thor to do this video in 2023? It's Windows doing the zooming, not Reason.

Nah, I use twin 1080p monitors and Reason is crisp - but he needs to set the application zoom in Reason to something higher than 100%. Especially if he’s using RRP. I run at 140% when using Reason DAW and 160% when using RRP. Thor appears crisp and clear.antic604 wrote: ↑09 Oct 2023It's very likely he's still using 1080p monitor (like MOST people still do) and zoom simply scales whatever is on screen, so it will be blurry, even with R12.EnochLight wrote: ↑28 Sep 2023Cool video, but why in the hell would he use a low-res version of Thor to do this video in 2023? No he doesn't.EnochLight wrote: ↑09 Oct 2023Nah, I use twin 1080p monitors and Reason is crisp - but he needs to set the application zoom in Reason to something higher than 100%. Especially if he’s using RRP. I run at 140% when using Reason DAW and 160% when using RRP. Thor appears crisp and clear.
If GUI elements are big enough for him, then he can stay at 100%. Especially with 1080p screen doing anything else than 100% will compromise the clarity / sharpness.
However, if he'd use 200% scaling at equivalent size 4K screen, then the pixels would be more dense and Windows' magnifying glass would have more data to work from, so the zoomed picture would be sharper.

Yes, he does - if he's making YouTube content and zooming in to the plugin. Otherwise, it's a blurry mess and looks like crap in those zooms. I mean, unless you're a fan of squinting? This has nothing to do with Windows magnify, BTW. Unless that's what he used for his zooms, in which case - bad move. Should do that post-edit in the video editing software.

If he has 1080p screen and he'll use 200% zoom in Reason, then he won't be able to see a lot on the screen, because everything will be 2x bigger.EnochLight wrote: ↑09 Oct 2023Yes, he does - if he's making YouTube content and zooming in to the plugin. You wouldn't keep Reason zoomed to 200% all of the time for tutorials like this. Zooms can be done in post-edit anyway, so you could just screen grab what you need for the brief zoom at 200% (or 160%, etc). At the end of the day, it's all superfluous anyway - I'm sure people will get use out of the tutorial as-is.

Exaclty. I still remember the time when all YT videos were 320p or 480p and it was fineEnochLight wrote: ↑09 Oct 2023You wouldn't keep Reason zoomed to 200% all of the time for tutorials like this. I remember a time when people didn’t film vertical video and the phrase “tick tock” just meant the passing of time.
