Fast access raw soundfile

I want to be able to see and fast play my soundfile without any effects, levels or anything else in the way. I would like to be able to double click the soundfile and press play and listen to the soundfile excactly as it was when it was recorded.

Stuff I want to be able to se is if the soundfile is cliped, and how It sounds "raw"

Now I know this is not possible to do in above manner, but can someone give me an idea of how I could accomplish the same?

When you press F3 or Windows menu and Show Browser you have a file browser with a preview available. You can pre-listen your audio from there without being affected by any process in the mixer. Is that what you mean ?
You can browse your Computer from there and even create bookmark folders by dragging them to that left side pane panel.
