Looking for Midi Lane Splitting tips

I came across a situation where the vocal melody in a midi occasionally contained harmonies, which neptune doesn't process very well in tune mode.
What I'd rather do is have these notes separated out so I can throw the harmony notes into another version of neptune in voice synth mode.
Is there something I'm missing that can speed up this process or do I have to manually select the notes I want used as harmonies and move them to a separate note late. a rule like 'extract everything but the middle or bottom note' would make my day.
