Blamsoft VK-2 Model-D emulation question

I am playing around with VK-2 these days and really am enjoying that rich sounds that I can make with this instrument, but was wondering if others might have some technique tips on emulating older synths such as the Model-D, as i just can't seem to dial in that sound. I know the VK-2 isn't meant to emulate that particular device, but am wondering if others have found ways to to VK-2 to really belt out that low end like a model-D.

It is too bad we can have a thread of tips for each device instead of having to go look around for tips and hints as individual posts within various threads. It would be awesome if we can have a section just for exchanging tips on single devices on a per thread basis.
