Akai Mini Mpk - how to: keys and pads play separate instruments??

How do i separate pads from keys on my Akai Mini MPK?
I wanna be able to play sounds from Kong Designer on my pads and piano on the keys.

If you're lucky the notes will be sent on two separate midi channels (one for the pads and one for the keys). then you could use a channel aware remote codec for each to add the MPK as two independent controllers.

Okay, I figured I could separate the to channels. What should I do now to make it work?
