Can Reason do 16 levels like an MPC?

I like using Dr. Octo Rex for my samples but I want 16 levels as well. Is there anyway to achieve this with 16 levels of tuning? Or is there an RE for it?

Rex loops don't support this, but NN-XT does. Use Kong with a NN-Nano and you can assign multiple samples to each pad, each triggered by a different velocity range.

Unfortunately there's no quick way to do this (IE select pad then change pad mode to 16 levels (which is velocity by the way) or chromatic (pitch)). The only other product I've seen that can do this is Maschine.

I have a feeling that some serious combinator hacking could come up with a workaround for this, but I can't think of how off the top of my head.
Maybe connect a triggered stairs curve from Malstroem routed from the Malstroem LFO out to Combinator CV in and from the modulation matrix to the desired destination...OverneathTheSkyBridg wrote:I have a feeling that some serious combinator hacking could come up with a workaround for this, but I can't think of how off the top of my head.

No. but akai's mpd will allow 16 level velocity but not tuning. How I do it sometimes is load a sample (original) in the sequencer and transpose it +1 or -1 etc...Neko the Jaguar wrote:I like using Dr. Octo Rex for my samples but I want 16 levels as well. Kong supports velocity layered samples.
Use the NN-Nano and you can have as many layers as you want. No, it's not as straightforward as MPC, but it's pretty easy.
