Mixing mono

I've never noticed that most plugins don't have a mono setting till I bought the gold bundle from waves. Now I'm wondering does it make a difference using mono eq's,compressors etc.. on stereo sources. My mix's sound like ish in mono when I load them on Instagram so I'm trying to get better at it.
