Quantized Finger Drumming with Kong
Reason file attached (requires Reason 8.3).
• Lock your controller to the Kong called "LOCK CONTROLLER".
• Load sounds and kits into the second Kong. All the initial sounds are from the Factory Sound Bank.
• Quantize settings can be changed for each drum by adjusting the Thor Step Sequencer settings.

This is brilliant fun. Not sure why more folk haven't commented on this, cheers for that, so simple yet affective

I started a thread a while ago about this very topic. I asked if there was a way this could be done. Nobody answered though. I'll have to check this out to see if it accomplishes what I sought out to do. From your description, it looks like it does! I'll have to check it out right now!
Thanks for this

Can't test it, still on 7.
But I appreciate the work that must have gone into this.
Perhaps screen caps of the routing so others can create the setup in 7?

Yeah I remember discussing this with you in a different forum dioxide.
So, does anybody have my free ReFill "CorrecTime" ? I cracked this mystery a few years ago. Nobody really cared much then either.
Anyway. Look for the refill. I'll post it here too when I can. Mine is MPC-inspired, has different kits and stuff, and IT ALSO HAS SWING.
peace!

Your site is down for repairs, so no. I don't have it.
Googling now.
Edit: Audiosex wants me to join a spam list to gain access, I think I'll pass. Only 17 days left to wait.

Can't check at the moment but it is basically Kong A (trigger) > Thor Step Sequencer > Kong B (sounds). You need to set up the Mod Matrix in Thor but I'm sure you'll figure it out.Raveshaper wrote:Can't test it, still on 7.

I'll try and post a .cmb when I can, I'm pretty sure it will all fit in a Combinator.

I tried to tackle this some time ago but I couldn't get note input times to snap to nearest subdivisions of time.
I recall trying to do that using everything available in stock Reason that has a time-based mechanic, like the step sequencer, but I ultimately failed.
I'll have to look into what's happening with this design to better understand where I went wrong in my attempts.

hmmm...very interesting, been looking for something like this quite long. so to set the "live quantize" to 1 bar i'd have to set thor 1 sync at the bottom to 4/4. right? hmmm...is still can play "off beat" when letting the song play... why?
