Hi everyone!

I am using the "Audio to CV" rack extension by LLC to let a sound manipulate and shape another.

My issue is, I want to fade this effect in, so it gradually affects the sound more and more.

So far I have found tutorials on how to automate CV with the External MIDI instrument or Thor, but I can't seem to wrap my head around how to apply it to this knob.

Very thankful for any suggestions to this challenge!

I am using this RE: https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... dio-to-cv/

I want to make an effect quite like this song:

You can't automate knobs on the back panel. Hook a thor inbetween and set up the mod matrix like in the pic and automate the Modwheel.

Jon Hopkins is also one of my main influences, even if my songs never really sounds like his. :-)
I will try to get closer. He is a Mastermind. Please share the patch.

And for your questions i often use this tool to controll cv signals. But i am sure there are also free ones.

Yeah it seems the only time you can automate knobs on the back is when they are tied to knobs on the front. I've only seen this on ABL3. And you can even assign the automation to those knobs from the back panel of ABL3 (you won't see the green highlight around back panel knobs, but there will be on the corresponding knob on the front panel). Weird seeing those back panel knobs turn with automation when not seeing that anywhere else in the rack.

Not sure if you already have Selig Gain, but if you do - in addition to controlling audio gain Selig Gain can also control CV gain. This gives you a quick way to automate the level of a CV signal from the front of the rack. Use VCA mode and the front panel fader will then 100% replicate the back panel CV knob, but with the added advantage of being automated and controlled by a Combinator. You can also mute and invert the CV signal, and of course you can ALSO use a second CV to control the CV level (scale) like Thor's modulation matrix.

You could use the "scale" on the Janitor and automate that to control the incoming CV signal.
