I primarily use Fiedler Audio plugins for immersive sound design/mixing and owned a few Dear Reality plugins. I much prefer Spacelab over dearVR. Looking forward though to checking them out and seeing what comes next for Sennheiser/AMBEO.ACTION REQUIRED
Update your purchased plugin
We would like to share important information regarding your purchased Dear Reality plugin.
Since we started more than 10 years ago and joined the Sennheiser Group in 2019, immersive audio has become an essential part of the professional audio industry. To better leverage future potentials, we are consolidating all immersive audio initiatives within the Sennheiser Group. As part of this process, Dear Reality will no longer continue as an independent company, and the brand will be phased out by the end of 2025.
What does this mean for you?
There will be a transition period from March 25, 2025, to July 31, 2025. During this period, the license manager will remain active, and you will be able to download the license manager-free version of your product. This ensures that you can seamlessly switch to the latest version.
- You’ll be able to use your product without any restrictions in the future by installing the new license manager-free version using the links at the bottom of this email.
- Dear Reality products will no longer be further developed, and current licenses will be deactivated on July 31, 2025.

Are these products any good & is it worth the time downloading any of them?
I´m still own dearVR MUSIC and what I cann report is, it lacks a little bit in resolution as well in performance mode,
the 3D phase moving functionality for especial phasing sounds in the stereo image quiet working well,
it overs a dry wet blend function with a dry signal reverb side input.
Where it lacks, the effect input dynamic is limitated, oversteers quickly.
A good effect to add a phasing pumping to synths and sounds.
At least comparable in sound quality with the pioneer RMX500 egine I would say, maybe a bit less open sound....

Sennheiser has taken over Dear Reality and they're shelving further development of their plugins. They're giving them away eleven of them for free in the meantime. The plugins are primarily focused on spatialization, so if you're into ambisonics and multichannel surround mixes, maybe worth checking out.

I used dearVR Pro about 5 years ago and found it very useful for dynamically moving a sound in 3D space (even though printing to stereo). It does a nice job of simulating 'distance from the listener' with EQ / reverb / volume, so that combined with the usual panning all controlled by a simple (automation-friendly) UI made it a winner for me.

I am using DearVR Pro 2 in Reason and the ambisonics functions are powerful and sound great.

They are definitely good.jaeproduced wrote: ↑26 Mar 2025Are these products any good & is it worth the time downloading any of them?
As mentioned by Loque though, they are no longer supported, so it is what it is and you may eventually run into issues or find that they won't even install on a newer OS down the road.
If wanting to get into the world of immersive/spatial audio, I think these are definitely worth playing with, but I highly recommend Fielder Audio: https://fiedler-audio.com.
As I mentioned above, I prefer Spacelab over DearVR for both the sound and features. There are two versions of Spacelab, Ignition and Interstellar and there's an upgrade path between the two. It works brilliantly in Reason. They also go on sale from time to time.

There's also Fiedler Audio's Dolby Atmos Composer for mixing and exporting Surround/Dolby Atmos mixes from any DAW, including Reason. It's the only way to mix and export Atmos in Reason (which otherwise is stereo only). The Essential version is free.
