This VST3 allows sample rate adjustment which adds an interesting lo-fi bit crushing effect that was common with old school jungle breakbeats, think I will have to try it out and load some pads and things in to it

Some examples of breakbeat sample rate adjusting here:

Just updated cheers.

Is it just me or Reason 12 (don't know about 13), you can't drag and drop samples from the browser? I expected it for loops in refills but not WAV files from system folders.

Also you can't edit the colours of the UI like in other hosts. I'm not really bothered about it but none the less it doesn't work in Reason!

TAL Sampler does that too but this has a charm (assuming you think that era was charming to use). The sound does feel quite 90s. Probably more immediately early sampling than TAL which is way more powerful and modern in capability.

Not tried TAL. I'm sure it is more full featured than a 10 quid sampler!

TBH the lo-fi charm I can do without. Old-skool loops used in Jungle are already dog rough sounding, unless processed to high heaven or augmented. The thing about Amigo is the ability to momentarily switch on and off time stretch on a slice/chop basis. This along with automatable cycle rate, pitch and comb filtering per slice/chop gives that signature DnB, Jungle, Breakbeat drum sound. Although it's a bit of a handful using Reason as a host with all it's editing quirks that really don't help.

If Dr Octorex did time stretch on a per slice basis, controlled by the slice edit mode (even better if it worked on the timeline and the device display in tandem) it would be pretty much the same thing for Rex files. But alas RS don't seem interested in adding it. It's not like it can't be done on the fly either, as samples/Rex loops are loaded into memory.

This is what I'm talking about:

It's not possible to do in real time without a buffer, therefore has to be part of a sample playback device.

Most if not all sample playback devices can do pitch transpose (frequency shift and ring mod would be perfection). The short delay/comb filter can be done in real time with Reason stock devices so that's no biggie.

Ah yes I should have mentioned this is an update to amigo!

Yes drag and drop .wavs has been around for a while, there's so many useful features it can be easy to miss a few.

i love this sampler. i had made a ticket regarding the missing drag n drop but reason support told me that there is no plan for this to work soon.

the new amigo update at least has a sample browser that imensly helps to load samples.

Shame about drag and drop, I guess it's a Reason thing rather than an Amigo bug. It's not the end of the world now the file browser auditions samples!

yes this is a reason problem as far i understand.

ot:
i also had a ticket some time ago regarding "satellite sessions" collab plugin. no keyboard input gets recognized in the plugin when the pluginwindow is open. also a pure reason problem.

I bet it was one of the reasons Props were reluctant to move to being a VST host. With them being a small team, keeping on top of bugs across thousands of different plug-ins, instead of just your own vetted format!

My bad I didn't know there is a Reason specific drag and drop issue, I would edit my comment but can't do that on this forum.

Curious as to what you use it on, just drums?

at least thats what i took from the support ticket answer i got.

i tried it for different tasks. slicing breaks with it somehow feels a bit like recycle, but very simplified (which i like). also for that typical jungle pads this thing is really great. the only thing i'm missing but what will not come in future updates, is a slice to midi funciton like with rex files that would be great to keep the original groove of a break.
