Hi guys,
I work with two screen monitors.
One for the seq, one for the rack.
Why is it that when i open a plugin window on the rack screen, it stays open when pushing play on the seq and when i drag this plugin to the seq window (which is right in front of me) it closes after i pushed play.
It closes eventhough i chose stay open in the plugin window.

Does it really close or does it just move into the background?

Are you on windows or mac?

There are tools for windows to keep windows on-top, like this one: https://efotinis.neocities.org/deskpins/

Some Linux desktops have this ability built-in in the OS (like KDE Neon), maybe mac has it also. If not, then there's probably some tool similar to windows solutions.
-------
Analog tape ⇒ ESQ1 sequencer board ⇒ Atari/Steinberg Pro24 ⇒ Atari/Cubase ⇒ Cakewalk Sonar ⇒ Orion Pro/Platinum ⇒ Reaper ⇒ Reason DAW.

Then I don't think its a bug, but a missing feature. That window would have to get a "keep on top" toggle button so the OS would paint it above the sequencer.

As you didn't give any detailed info on your system (always the best way to get accurate help with problems or bugs, right?), I'm not entirely sure, but there might exist windows software to get that option added for any window.
(On linux desktops the "keep in foreground"-option has been a standard feature of almost any desktop environment for decades, but I'm not sure if apple botched it.)

I hate this "feature" in Reason too after spending more time in Ableton and realizing how crucial it is to consistent/fast workflow. Clicking everytime "stay on top" is cumbersome. It should have an option somewhere to keep all plugin windows on top unless defined otherwise.
