Kontakt 7. Is it worth it?
I think it's worth it if there are libraries you want. I actually got into Kontakt shortly after getting Reason (around 20 years ago now!), and I always thought I'd build all my cool samples with it. Instead, since much of my early sampling was for the Fairlight and S900 (meaning short one-shots) it was easier to build them in NNXT/Reason.
Even today, all my cool library stuff is in Kontakt (especially orchestral and experimental) but all my personal libraries are in Reason.
All to say, if you want to build your own libraries, Reason is probably enough. And if you want any Kontakt libraries, there's only one choice there (that I'm aware of). Not sure this answers your question, so I'm happy to elaborate if necessary!

Just picked up Kontakt 7.
I've been curious about it forever and was able to activate the cross-grade offer by registering a free product to native-access (Heavyocity - foundations chior).
That stacked with Black Friday deals let me grab it for $150 Aussie dollars.
Still downloading so I cant say if it's worth it yet, but for that price I'm sure I'll find value.
