Nice deal on at the moment on the UAD DBX 160 which is new to the native format.
Anyone have experience with this plugin and what are your thoughts?

You can't go wrong if you in a need for a "pinchy" compressor.

This practically lives on my drum bus these days. Used subtly I’d call it “punchy” not “pinchy”. The side chain function is useful too.
Back in the hardware days I also loved it on BGVs to “force” them to sit in the mix without sounding overly compressed.
It’s probably the most famous (or at least the original) “VCA style” compressor out there, good to have in addition to an opto, an FET, and a Vari-Mu style compressor IMO.

It’s $10 cheaper than the UAD version but I’ve not worked with it. My reference is the original hardware, so that’s where my ‘biases’ lie. For those who never worked on the original I’m not sure you’d care about any subtle differences between them.Ichooselife wrote: ↑13 Sep 2023this one any good ?selig wrote: ↑13 Sep 2023This practically lives on my drum bus these days.
