Serum tied with Malström is funny.

I kind of like ModSynth on Android. Kinda like a portable, but modular Subtractor. Has a VST version, too I think. It's nice to sketch out ideas while jamming on it. It's exactly what I was looking for a synth app.

Based on these results I picked up Pigments (while it’s on sale and music press reviews were off the charts). Seems like a turbo powered Europa.
Software: Reason 12 + Objekt, Vintage Vault 4, V-Collection 9 + Pigments, Vintage Verb + Supermassive
Hardware: M1 Mac mini + dual monitors, Launchkey 61, Scarlett 18i20, Rokit 6 monitors, AT4040 mic, DT-990 Pro phones

Yeah they have a lot of similarities...
But pigments has a major advantage over Europa... It's being updated very regularly.
So it looks more and more turbo charged...

So it seems. I should have added that it seems to have a big dollop of Grain and Mimic too. Crazy number of combinations. And I have to say all the visuals on the Play UI are quite delightful.

I am actually delighted that this thread could help you discover pigments. It is really a fantastic synth. And the fx section is dope.

I am just sad I gave my vote already because I would have certainly voted for the just released Fabfilter Twin 3. I am having a blast with this synth now. It is not a powerhouse like pigments or phase plant but the UI is so awesome and the filters are so great-sounding I don't stop creating new sounds I love.

A few weeks ago I got Serum and now I’m looking for the best presets but also need to learn how to sound design for once.
Serum is so amazing! All these years I’ve been using RS synths and now Serum got me into VSTs. I went nuts on the Waves sale last week but OMG I got some killer new toys!

Does anyone still use Massive?

Not sure about "best presets" but I can send you a few of my patches and some free ones I have collected over time if you want them. Helpful to reverse engineer them to learn.

I just got it recently, as a freebie from Focusrite. Haven’t used it yet though.

Heck yeah I’ll take it. Black Octopus has some really cool packs. Just don’t wanna spend too much.

How is Halion? Heard there is a new version. What are the strengths of this one?

Both HALion and Falcon are amazing synth/sampler workstations that basically do the job of Kontakt + REAKTOR in one plug-in.

Synths like Pigments and Alchemy are sort of lite versions of this for synthesis.

HALion or Falcon, alone, will do the job of over half the synths included with Reason 12.
