Routing audio through Cherry CA2600. Help!!!
Anybody help me with this. The Cherry Audio CA2600 comes with both instrument and fx plugins. How in the hell to I use the fx? Either on audio or on another instrument. Can't find in the manual how to do it. Saw a couple of videos talking about Sidechaining but I have no idea as they weren't using Reason. I'm just blindly pulling cables all over the place. If anyone can tell me simply how to use CA2600 as an effect I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

I don't have Cherry's, but I've got Arturia's, and I'm guessing they might be the same. Not sure.
Route your audio into the AUDIO INS on the back of the ARP.
Then on the ARP, turn up the Preamplifier and patch it into one of the inputs on the MIXER. The reverb can be used if you turn it up, on the Arturia, it also goes through a Chorus and Delay.

I can also run the audio thru the ARP's filter. Very nice indeed.

Thanks, Yeah, i connected as in your first example into the VCA. Couldn’t get any effects though. Not really sure how I should cable it. Putting it into the VCA sounds just like a straight through. It

Just to clarify, you patched into the Mixer input that is normalled to the VCA, right? If you patched into the VCA itself, then you have to open the VCA by triggering an envelope. I patched directly into the Mixer section, so no envelope is required. Just happened to use the input normalled to the VCA. It could have been the VCF input too, makes no difference.

Aha, I'm looking at the CA2600 manual. I see that the VCA is normalled into the effects. Therefore, you should patch the Preamplifier into the VCA. Then the signal will go to the effects. However, I'm not sure if you have to open the gate on the VCA by pressing a key on your keyboard. In the Instrument version, you'd have to, but maybe in the Effect version, the VCA is always open.
On the Arturia, it looks like this...
On the Cherry version, patch it into one of these two audio inputs and turn it up.

Hej. Can I start by thanking you for the time you're putting in to help me. Very much appreciated. Anyway, It's working now I think...I pulled a cable from the output on the preamp into VCA Audio Jacks on each effect. I then dragged a cable from the Output of each effect to the corresponding Audio Inputs on the Mixer. In order to get a decent output I had to set the Range on the Preamp to x10.
First thing I was doing was running a REX drum loop through it. Wondering really why I should use the CA2600 as an effects unit when I already have loads of reverbs, delays and distortions. Dragging cables in and out of the different modules was just making the CA2600 act as a noise generator. What's the next step in order to get more "advanced" effects or is that pretty much it?
To be honest with both you and myself I don't think modular is for me. I already uninstalled Voltage Modular. I'm a guitarist goddamnit. One cable in one cable out.

The spring reverb in CA2600 is probably modeled on the one in the original ARP2600, so it would have an interesting lo-fi quality. Other than that, I can't imagine the effects are unique, as you say, you probably have a ton of them to choose from in your arsenal.
The other thing that CA2600 might bring to the table, effects wise, is the filter. They've modelled the ARP2600 filters pretty well, so it would have a nice analog quality. But again, you probably have a few filters in your collection already.
