Looking to buy a virtual guitar plug in for my next production and would like to get some suggestions. Its primary use will be to add realistic lead guitar parts. I currently use synth sounds running thru various effects chains along with some use of modulation and pitch bend which gets me close but not good enough. I know that my playing technique needs to be refined to achieve an even better level of authenticity when it comes playing leads using a midi keyboard but in the mean time looking for a "shortcut".

Matcha is on sale for 29.99 right now with code LYS2-2999. Try it and if you like it $30 is not that expensive imho.

These are my favorites. You need Kontakt Player (included).

There is the guitar portfolio of the Ample Sound. They are not cheap, but very versatile i think and sounds beautiful.

My current go to guitar(s) are the libraries offered by Acoustic Samples. They use the UVI engine to load. For electric guitar they offer Strategy and Telmatic. Both are all around libraries that not only offer solo performances but strummed chords with key switches and ability to create and use patterns. There is a built in effect library but overall limited. Shines with the use of something Like Guitar Rig or Amplitube.
