Are there any tools (on windows) for managing VSTs?

I find it can be a real pain keeping track of the dll's, removing a specific vst (lot of the dlls have weird names), determining what's 32 bit (since a lot install a 32 bit version which is obviously useless) etc. It wasn't long before things became a big mess. I'm partly concerned it's going to be a huge hassle if I ever reinstall windows or switch to another computer (there is probably no solution for the VST's with their own shop/downloader - iZotope, NI, etc but I can live with that). Keeping track of patches is also a big pain - seems like every developer installs them in a different place.

I can't be the only one who struggles with this so i'm guessing there is some free, or paid tool for managing VST's sanely. Just having something that shows me a image of the plugin and where it's installed would go a long way.
