Eventide Blackhole is $41 on JRRShop with code Group. In a world with a thousand reverbs and me owning half of those does Blackhole offer anything the others don’t or is it just a very good reverb? Thanks.

If you've got 500 reverbs then I doubt Blackhole will add anything in terms of musicality, realism etc. But if you're looking for a massive cinematic sound design beast with lots of features for creating gigantic weirdo swirling deep void FX, then yeah it's quite unique

Thanks. Yeah, I think I’ve got a massive cinematic gigantic weirdo swirling deep void reverb somewhere already. Good stuff.

I think the best price was 29, so i wouldnt pay 41 at all and you probably have Animus and a thousand number of reverbs with a freeze function and a bunch of pitchers, shifters, glitchers, ... which can add some additional sparcle on your reverb tail if needed. And if everything fails, just load any suitable sample as an IR and you are done for another 1000 years of reverb fun.

Yep, load a hihat as an IR and have fun!

Ok. Thanks. Now can you tell me where to load the IRS? Never done it. Thanks.

It's one of the classic reverb pedals, but that's all. It's just one algo and it's not that special, in my experience. There's more to explore vast/non-linear-wise in Supermassive.
Blackhole is sometimes cheaper than that, too.

RV7000MKII, means the blue reverb from Reason stock. Select Impulse Response as algorithm. than you get a "open folder" icon to load a sample or just drop a sample on it. Adjust settings to taste. And start to realize, that everything can be loaded as IR, even pads, amps, noises, drumloops or whatever...

Cool. So RV7000 just? No other verb before it?

Nothing more is needed.

Although there's no law against stacking long and short reverbs, of course! Blur the blur.

This was on my list, but Raum seemed to cover enough of this type of big verb for me along with the freeze function...

And I had also picked up Zynaptiq's Adaptiverb a few months back with their Sound Design bundle (which I highly recommend and is currently on sale). If there's any verb I don't have a good alternative for, it's Adaptiverb—it's insane. Their Sound Design bundle is one of the must-haves IMO (includes Adaptiverb, Wormhole, and Morph 2).

Need to work out if Fritz can do a basic freeze effect - or of not, if there's any devices that can. Be nice if you could just add a freeze function to *any* reverb.
There again, it's not as interesting or as versatile as just resampling reverb tails in Grain etc...
