Do you realize how inconvenient it is to get a super lo-fi sound out of a real tape deck?? Well, if you think a tape deck sounds lo-fi and crunchy by default then it's clear you've never touched a real tape deck because contrary to what some may think, a tape deck plays back music pretty well. Apart from some hiss, you may not even hear any artifacts on playback. You want a lo-fi, crunchy, wobbly, pitchy sound from a cassette? Well you need to modify the tape deck, and that isn't always an easy or practical thing to do. Luckily, cassette emulations exist. Some are good, some are bad, and some are truly excellent, and that's what we have here with SketchCassette II.

The first SketchCassette was really good and now SC II is even better. Check out the new stuff in V2:

The first SketchCassette was already the best cassette emulator on the market and the features in version 2 push it over the top:

- 12 unique tape type & quality profiles
- Age modeling with continuous control
- 2 Tape Saturation models: A (gentle), B (harsh)
- Tape hiss
- Dropouts with newly extended Stereo Width control
- Highly adjustable Wow & Flutter section, including:
- Tempo Syncing to DAW
- An “FM Mode” which allows you to modulate the Flutter Rate with the Wow controls
- Flanging
- Noise-reduction encoding compression with controls over Brightness & Amount
- Mix controls for Tape Filtering and Compression
- Custom preset system with 61 factory presets showcasing SketchCassette II’s versatility

But all that doesn't matter if it doesn't sound good and authentic, and holy f*ck it does.

You have to hear it in action to see what I mean.

Better yet, give it a try, however due to Reason's unfortunate lack of VST3/AU support, you can't use all the latest and greatest plugins in the rack:

MAC: https://aberrantdsp.com/wp-content/uplo ... -macOS.zip
WIN: https://aberrantdsp.com/wp-content/uplo ... indows.zip

SketchCassette II supports the following formats and operating systems:
Windows 7 or later – VST3 and AAX at 64-bit
macOS 10.8 Mountain Lion through macOS 10.15 Catalina – AU, VST3, and AAX at 64-bit

It's on sale right now for $20.

Great lofi plugin!

And it can be used in Reason with a VST wrapper like Kushview Element or the one from Xlutop ( https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopi ... r#p7820379 ).
