How many EQs have you got Phill? You don’t need it and you know it :).

It's a "musical" EQ that is dead simple to use and sounds great. Famous for its "Air band", essentially just a high shelf that adds lots of presence without sounding harsh

I wonder if the air thingy is the same as the one on the blackbox 🤔

Add the "Air", than remove it to sound analog and get rid if the high tone fizz.

Did someone ask why the Maag EQ4 is good? Out of all the analog modeled EQs we question the Maag?

Red Rock Sound have their own RE version of this one and I like it a lot. Currently on sale for $25, haven't compared it to the Maag but it's very nice

I only question it because I've read it is good and being the plugin in this thread I figured out would be good to ask here 🤷‍♂️

The Maags are exceptional. Let no one here fool you saying its just another typical EQ.

The concept of the Maags EQ differ from traditional EQs in that the wide boosts and topology of the boost always result in as minimum phase shifting as possible (compromising in gain). Therefore, boosting is almost super smooth and clean, practically distortion free until you run out of headroom. Which is one reason why the AIR & SUB band is super effective. Besides that its my go to for any character boosting when a sound doesn't have enough of something.

And if you don‘t want to spend money at all, then give lkjb Luftikus a try:

It‘s more or less a clone with the additional benefit of gain compensation.

Ended up picking it up. I'll give it a thorough test soon as Baseball is on.
