If you ever wanted to dive into Ableton Live, now's the time. It's the Lite version so it only has 8 tracks, but you can do the same trick as in Reason, which is to "combine" instruments in an so called instrument rack and use different octaves of your keyboard to play each one and virtually increase the limitation of 8 tracks.

Sticking an Akai Beats in it and each Ableton instance adds 8 midi tracks and 2 audio tracks.
Stick in a Reason RRP and with some keyboard splitting you can surely get 3 instruments playing on one midi channel if you need to.
So you then end up with up to 64 midi tracks and 16 audio tracks.
And Studio One 5 has its free version too https://shop.presonus.com/Studio-One-5-Prime
S1 Prime has NO track limit, whatsoever
I guess we enter an era when buying a full DAW is only needed when you need to record a bunch of live audio tracks.

It's a really great time we live in. Waveform, Cakewalk, MPC Beats, LMMS, S1 Prime and all kinds of Lite versions, and these are just the Windows options - making music on your computer has never been cheaper and more accessible.

Huh. Presonus. Not bad. I will give it a try in near future. Not now. I am totally satisfied with Reason 10 and hardly wait to get v12.
I downloaded all free stuff from the link. Cool. Generous from them. Some 4 pcs bundle. Cool.
