Trying to get my head round Labs. I’ve got the Spitfire Audio app installed. When I look at “not installed” I see a whole load of the Labs I haven’t installed. When I look at “installed” there’s a Lab there called Modular Pianos. There’s a red up and down line in a circle but clicking on it does nothing. I deleted the folder for that Lab in my VST folder but it still shows as installed in the Lab installer program.
The BBC thing is great. It’s showing two programs however. The BBC Plugin plus the BBC Explore.
Anybody help me understand what’s going on. How do I uninstall the Labs if I want rid of them?
Thanks.

Thanks man. I already got it installed and everything working. It’s more the menu thing is showing I’ve got a Lab installed which I don’t and even then there’s no option to uninstall it anywhere. It’s not really the installation that’s the problem. It’s uninstallation of individual labs from the menu.

I've never encountered it showing something as installed that I didn't install.

What are you trying to uninstall? LABS or a LABS library?

A Labs Library. I click On the installed tab and there’s a library there. Underneath is a red vertical line.
If I look on my products section on my account the bbc thing is there along with a piano thing which I don’t remember getting. I think it’s that which is showing in downloads. Not home just now.
Hmmm... Well the "My Products" tab is of course for the non-LABS stuff. What do you see beside the BBC Orchestra? Maybe you had an account before and added some things to it that you don't remember? What piano library do you have?

I don't see a red line anywhere when I browse the app. I'm not sure what that it is that you are seeing.

For each library, you will see a "repair" option. You can try that.
But via the cog per each library, you will also see a "locate" option. That will point you to the folder it is in and you can remove it from there. Also, if you go to the 'Settings' tab at the top and choose 'Default Content Path' in the left column, that will also point you to the folders.

On macOS, the libraries are stored by default in the shared folder, not in the VST folder. I'm not sure where they are stored on Windows. Previously you said you deleted a folder form the VST folder, so I'm not sure what that would've been...

Right...I think I've got it sussed out. Two questions if you can help me.
1. When I open My Products in the installer I see BBCSO Discover. Underneath that icon is an exclamation mark on a red background. If I click on that it opens up a larger window with the Discover icon and underneath that logo it says "BBCSO Discover with the exclamation mark on red, and then underneath that BBCSO Plugin. What does the exclamation mark indicate? (I can try and post a screen shot if you don't understand what I'm meaning)

2. Is there any way to remove installed Labs Libraries once they've been installed?

Thanks if you can help. And thanks anyway :)

I clicked on the cog next to the exclamation mark on BBCSO Discover and clicked on locate. The app got moved to another folder and the exclamation mark disappeared.
Then I clicked on the cog next to BBCSO Plugin and clicked on locate. The exclamation mark came back next to discover.

Did you try clicking on "repair"? Maybe you moved something or removed something that it needs?

Before you mentioned removing something from the VST folder. I'm on macOS and libraries are not stored there. I'm not sure what is stored there on Windows and what you might've removed...

VST's are only the players. If you want to see where the content is stored, then open "Spitfire Audio" app, go to "Settings" and then to "Default Content Path". There you should see your home path for the sample data (which are stored in some kind of database format - don't expect audio files)

But there must also be some config data elsewhere. Spitfire Audio App stores its information on a separate place.

Hmmm. I specified my own VST folder as default location for all installations. I had tried the repair thing. Everything is working as it should. Don’t know what that exclamation mark keeps coming up though. I reckon I’m going to remove everything and start again.
Anyone know what the difference is between then BBCSO plugin file and the BBCSO Discover file is?

Not really sure what happened first time around but I removed everything and did a fresh install and now everything is working as it should. Thanks for all the input. That BBCSO Plugin is fantastic. :) No need for Friktion here hahaha.

Edit: One last question...is there any way to collapse the libraries in the patch browser? Or is it just a case of "starring" the patches I like?

Probably the purpose of the library is different and the vast majority either uses the provided templates for scoring or creates their own templates at first.

Although the player is basically the same as the other players (e.g. LABS), I never used the patch browser so far. I start either with the template, or I pick the desired instrument from the seating layout.

question about spitfire labs more on me and my lack of knowledge of apple.

ok so the spitfire installer is on my MacBook and open it and all the lab entries are there.

ok how do you install the lab entries, on an external hard drive so I save some space on my MacBook?

I want to be able to have the spitfire installer on the Mac and the labs on the external hard drive so I can access them like I do with my konkakt files?

tried it and opened reason and the installer was telling me all the labs were not loaded.

well it didn't actually tell me like talking to me, but you know what I mean

think the lockdown is getting to me and I'm in that dangerous terrority of fiddling with the wrong stuff and regretting my actions

When you go to install them the program offers you the choice of the drive you'd previously set up or an external drive I believe.

Just select one for install and see how you go, depending on time of day their server can be slow.

Sorry to hijack - one issue I have with LABS is sometimes it will say the last one I installed isnt installed and then is fixed when I install it again. Currently have them all, that tape orchestra is great from the last lot.
