Some interesting stuff here and on sale for $43 https://www.audiodeluxe.com/products/au ... collection (code SUMMER2020)
Juno, ARP2600, Wave Seq Synth, FM Synth. Minimal need to patch, but plenty of patching opportunity when needed.

From before it seems Cherry Audio v2 works fine in Reason 10 - correct?

But can you do enough midi-wise with just Nucleus (the free modules) together with the Yr 2 package? Or is buying Core bundle a must (another $50)?

The core also comes with a VST host (FX and Instr), which is cool, but I could not find any info if it takes VST3 or not, hmmm!?

I found this in the manual of ca plugin host.
Select Plug-In- Use this to choose an instrument or effect. When clicked, you'll see a sub-menu with instrument and effects types (Audio Units, VST, VST3 - depending on whether you're using Windows or OS X). Choosing the desired type will automatically navigate to the appropriate folder where plug-ins can be selected.
As reason 11 was relesead I asked in this forum if ca can host it and some member here said its possible. I haven't upgraded to reason 11 and never checked if a vst3 works but it should and I will test it later.
Here the link to the manual.

The were issues with VM(1) and Reason on Windows, then I heard some Mac users also had issues.

Reason 11.1 fixed all the issues and VM1 and VM2 works really well.

VST3 do work as I have loaded the RRPi inside of VM.

This was a little generative patch I made..

I have just booted up Reason 10 and now waiting for it scan all my plugins as I have not used it since R11 came out...

Still scanning.....

Well I had to wait for it to load so you can spend time reading my messages

and VM2 works..wow.. I loaded up my above project, loaded OK, did not play too well however it is massive, interestingly R11 had the same issues, seams like VM1 was better optimised for me, interesting... something for me to look into...however I do use VM2 a lot without any issues.

Thanks!

Can you live without the Midi Devices from the Core Package and still get some use out of the polyphonic synths (from the 2yr bundle)?

Shame I missed out on that summer code..

Anyway, yes you could, don't forget you can trial the modules (synths as well)

I do have the core (plus 2yr bundle), psp-ultimate-modular-collection and andrew-macaulays-ultimate-bundle

They are all good stuff...
