Is there any VST/ RE (preferably free) which can load EPROMS?
I seem to remember trying some Quadelectra thing but found it too fiddly. .

Edit: Found this...Vprom by AlyJamesLab. Anybody used it?

This looks interesting. A lot of these seem to be firmware I think? For instance a lot of these are synths and samplers. I don't know if there is any actual drums sounds in most of these, which I guess is what you're looking for?

You’re totally correct. I wrote and asked Aly James and here’s what he explained for me regarding this EPROMs.

“ What you got here are mostly OS Dumps that means operating systems and bios dumps from various machine, these are not sounds but firmware, program code 😅
VProm can load .bin files but they need to contain compatible sound data, aka companded format( a form of compression used in the past) machines like Linn’s, Oberheim’s etc used that format.
You could try to load those firmware into VProm but you would end up with a bunch of white noise as these are just data.”

Thought I was sitting on a goldmine but apparently not. :(

A shame but yes, this list is like a list of everything ever made. If you find any good resources for BIN files please post it. I have the Quadelectra Jackbox so I'd be interested in this too.

I was thinking of getting that Quadelectra Linn then I thought I’ve got so many samples it just wasn’t worth it. Then I saw VProm and the temptation of being able to use that connection of EPROMs was pretty strong. Now I’m ambivalent again

These though?

There’s also a program called Promenade which converts .wav files to EPROM format.

All I bought VProm yesterday and I am so happy. No regrets, no remorse.
Anyway...here’s a link to some EPROMs which load directly into VProm 2.
