Anybody with Brainworx Blackdist2 check something for me?
Is this plugin really quiet? I put a Selig Gain on it just to check the levels and even with volume and distortion on full I'm only getting a max level of -12dB. No room for louder in other words. The bx metal2 is also quiet for that matter but can be boosted using the EQ. In any case, if anybody's got it and can confirm I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Thanks. Wonder why they didn’t make it louder.
Did you get it up to -9dB? I didn’t try anything else through it other than my guitar.

Probably because they want to avoid you blowing the speakers. Everything becomes a square wave...
I just ran a 808 through it...

It's a replica of the ProCo RAT2 pedal which has exactly the same behaviour. Most of the time, you'll want to set the volume knob to 3 o'clock
Yeah. Exactly. But even on full volume I’m only getting max -12dB. The output level indicator in the VST doesn’t get into the red.
There’s a free RAT VST...can’t remember who makes it but it’s great.

Ah, I've gotten into the habit of gain staging everything at around -10dB. I never noticed how it peaks at -9dB
