You can grab it here.
https://www.akaipro.com/mpc-beats
Haven't found a manual yet, but I guess it is a "lite" version of their MPC 2.8.
Things to find out:
* Is the MPC plugin itself VST3 or VST2?
* Can it host both VST2/3?
* Can hosted VSTs send out midi?
* Can the MPC software send out midi?
* Can you host multiple MPCs in a DAW?
It has several nice piano roll features, possibly also automation that can be worthwhile to check out. And some free fx, synths and sample packs. Sample chopping might be good too.

Yeah, same here. Guess, I'll just give it a day to see if their servers respond.
It has:
Auto sampling
VST midi routing
3 instruments, 28 fx
Note repeat
Midi capture/retrospective
Punch in
Quantize while recording
Drag out your beat as audio or midi
Browser w loop sync
Zplane audio warp
Some kind of clip launcher
No VST3 loading yet...

Why is this in "VST Plugins" section? It's a (demo) DAW.

Works as a VST inside Reason...

So does FL or Maschine and they're still considered DAWs first, VST second.
No, I can delete it. I just care about order & consistency

2 audio tracks? that definitely doesn’t belong in the other software section among other DAWs

Dunno if Akai screwed it up, but MPC Beats does NOT route VST midi. What it does is, it can take incoming midi and route it from one track to another, basically a way to make layered sounds.
So just like Reason and Machine, it won't work with VST midi devices add far as I could see.
If any one else can make Scaler or something similar work then LMK.
By the way, I see MPC Beats more like a very capable Player Sequencer type thing, like Sequences. Not something to arrange a whole song with.

Big question is, is it worth installing? What do you think. Play with it for 10 minutes or actually think you’ll get some use out of it? “VSTs I Use” folder or somewhere buried in a HD in the “Free VSTs” folder and forgotten about?Boombastix wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020Dunno if Akai screwed it up, but MPC Beats does NOT route VST midi. Takes more than 10min to learn it, but it is very capable to do drum programming for electronic music (not live rock type stuff, but pop, hip hop, dance).
Not sure if it that much better for chords and piano, but it has built in chord generator, like a mini Scaler. You can drag out your stuff as midi or audio into Reason to work on your arrangement. The F9 sound pack is good too.
You can pretty quickly make a drum groove with 8 tracks, each with insert fx, then master fx and just drag it out as an audio loop. Once you learn about note repeat and stuff, it is useful for that, just start a 2 or 4 bar loop and build it up while looping.
The built in Electric Piano was surprisingly nice.
So yeah, there is stuff there.

Besides the included sounds, the beat chopping and pad assignment is great, also build a drum pattern in loop-mode and using note repeats and using over-dub.
