On the KVR forum the chap said yesterday "I'll know more tomorrow". So it sounds like they either don't know what has happened to the site or they are discovering that their backups and/or emergency recovery plan are not quite what they thought. It could be as simple as the web server going down and the backups not restoring properly. Interesting, in an expensive way.
I also read that.... and until now there is no "further information" from him.

The Quote above was made before this statement of "I´ll know more tomorrow".

Maybe they got sued by someone and the site is down because of an "injunctive relief" ?
Yeah, i´m just speculating again.... but if there´s no information.... people start to speculate.

This Uncle E's lack of transparency and information is dreadful. On Sunday, he said he'd have info by Monday, but it's now Thursday, and nothing. Not at Kvr, not anywhere else on their social media. Seriously, wtf!? The landing Page went from nothing, to a security risk through Firefox, to a maintenance issue, and now to a 404...Unreal

Sometimes these things take longer than initially thought. I guess it's not just a website. It has to be tied in to their stock control system and their ordering and shipping systems.

A couple of hours ago he posted this on KVR:
Thank you for asking! We're hoping to have the site back up tomorrow and will then launch our new site a few weeks after that.
Eric Dahlberg
JRR Shop
He's also promising some freebie sounds when the shop does get back up and running.

I wrote to them last night on Messenger about some stuff and they wrote back that they’d check prices and get back to me, so they’re still doing business.

Now the page is showing SQL error messages... I suppose they got owned pretty hard and have to rebuild the systems from scratch.

On KVR he said, no hack, just stupid. Believe it or not...its suspicious IMO...and if they do not inform the customers, its illegal...at least in my country...

His latest statement is this. Make of it what you will.
Yes, you are completely correct in being concerned and I have not properly addressed this. There was no security breach and the site was not hacked. It appears that an extension we were using stopped functioning in June and that our site was basically hanging on by a thread. Then on July 7, when our site was being bombarded by people looking for Studio One 5, it was too much traffic and the database crashed.

There were many, MANY things that myself and a few others on the JRR staff could have done better but this was not caused by anyone with malicious intent.

Looks like they’ve got a few Black Friday deals in as well.

Get the feeling they’ve put up an old “featured deals” page.

So...who will be the first to buy there?

I just checked and i saw some special deals, that made me think...Especially the Tone2 stuff, which is quite unusual, since Markus is ranting about those sale prices all over the internet...and the price is somehow not discounted when on the page. Note, that before you buy, they them, they are linked to bestservice, which Markus explicit excepts from reselling...Weird stuff-...really...

Yes, FabFilter Saturn for 79...smells like a old DB and when you click on the product, there is no sale...I think, its not 100% working atm...Time to buy and sue them

I´ve logged in and can´t see my last purchase. Is everything you bought there in your account ?

Ok - I have 2 JRR Shop accounts (one for standard site and the other for their BLOWOUT). My list of orders is for everything <= 2018. Nothing from 2019 or 2020. So - yes... it's an old DB.

And I had to login using my really old PW (no doubt from 2018 period) - not my latest one. Will immediately change my PW - just in case that has been leaked.

They should be doing all this behind closed doors and only exposing a fully working version to the public. Plus they should be making a "proper" announcement to say that they are having problems and that they will be closed until they have resolved things.

We may never know the cause but I think one thing we can all agree on is how badly they are handling the recovery!

Still, if/when they get going properly we'll all be there, grabbing those cheaper-than-anywhere-else deals.

From the quote above about "what happend" - for me it sounds that what we see is all they have ?!? not ?

So...mhhm.... we will see what happens the next days.
btw, while logged in some "links" on the site still lead me to "errors"....so yeah, we´ll see.
