Look and sounds interesting. How does it compare to

I just read a bit what Nils was doing. Interesting and good work. But if reading the ROM is legal, is probably questionable...

Oh wow, one of the worst digital synths are back, this will be fun, pure Roland D10 type terror
But then who needs a filter or reverb
Big kudos to the guy putting this together

Not sure about the patches and loading. I think it is sampled. Probably no multi samples. Its not a full emulation with everything in detail, so it is rather designed after the K1 AFAIU.

This is the RE that is closest to the K1, although each device only emulates one of the K-1's 4 oscillators, so you'd need up to 4 of these stacked to recreate a Single patch.
https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... 2-builder/

Advantages the VST has:
• Has the Joystick on the interface for blending between partials.
• Can do the Ring Mod between partials.

Disadvantages:
• PC only!

Note I haven't tried the VST as I'm a Mac user. These are just my first impressions from looking at the interface and being an ex-K1 owner.

Looks like he's done some indepth work on this.

If any RE devs would do a port of this, I'd buy instantly.

Would love a Mac version of this. Those noisy strings and ahh sounds will forever have a spot in my heart!

Works nicely for me inside of reason 10, plus the gui is resizable :) Cant seem to import any of the recommended sysex banks but there's plenty sounds that come with it.

It's not a synth I used for very long "back then" but from what I remember this guy has nailed it. He's extracted the samples from his own unit (desoldering the ROM chip in the process!) and has included a load of expansion cards too. Nice job, although not a great synth by modern standards.

I feel the same way, and would LOVE a macOS version.

I had a K1 II in the 90's and loved it, but ended up selling off a TON of my hardware around 1999-2000. I just had a K1M in my store recently, but didn't have a PSU handy for it, and sold it cheap as "untested." Hoping to pick up a K1R down the road.

Following the KVR thread, it looks like a Mac version is a real possibility. Fingers crossed for a RE port!
