Plugin Alliance sent out a new $20 voucher with no minimum spend, so Thorn/Oberhausen ($39.99) go down to $19.99. Expires on 6/30.

There are some other good plugins on sale for $29.99 which with the voucher go down to $9.99. I don't think they've ever gone this low.

I hadn't heard of Lion by Unfiltered Audio, but wow, that looks like a real standout in this sale.

Why buy another synthesizer, if you can save up for an upgrade or a good RE?

You’re just saying that because you’re secretly(?) working for Plugin Alliance :). Or...?

Lol, I wish. I'd love to work for them or any good plugin developer.

Anyone here have experience with Lion? It looks like a great tool for experimental sound design; the only downsides I’m reading are that it apparently doesn’t have a very good preset bank.

I own it and it's a very powerful synth with a big variety of oscillators and the same fx engine as their Byome plugin, all with very nice modulators and envelopes that you can hook up similar to Reason or Reaktor.
Presets I've not really touched them as I think it's more aimed at forging your own path - slotting in modules and going crazy hooking cables up everywhere.

The presets are quite bad. The synth is interesting and more for expirmental sound designers. It's not like you hook it up and have instant joy. You need to fiddle a bit, but than you get something else which you can barely get out of other synths. It sounds quite digital at all.

And maybe you can save some extra 5 bucks with the survey voucher (works only one time) ... But i said this now often enough.

Thanks for the recommendations on Lion. I decided to try the demo and clicked with it immediately – I thought it would be more complicated to program, but I was setting up detailed modulations in no time. Instant buy.

Try the two Black Distortion Pedals, they are very good for tearing up synths sounds too. And basically free if you use the voucher.

Man. I’ve gotten so sick of free and cheap plugins that I can’t even be bothered registering to get Dent it the Dists. Maybe the GAS is beginning to clear up.

Didn't realise the code allowed you to get a freebie. Got myself Cleansweep Pro which is far more interesting than you might think at first glance.
