Is there anything superior to the Scream4 Tape-compression in the VST world?
As Scream4 has served me already since 2003, I would be now ready to try out something else as well.

Thanks!

I really like Softube Tape, got it a while back for $50 and it’s been my go to tape plugin. Just got Waves J37 also as a freebie after spending $50 on their site but haven’t had a chance to use it yet. Seems to be pretty popular as well. Airwindows makes some good tape emu’s also, just gotta route them in a combinator and your good to go. Really wish we could get an updated combinator with more knobs and features just for airwindows plugs !

I like the tape saturation (and others) in Trash 2 - multiband too - works wonders on kicks!
And of course Trash 2 can do a lot besides...
It's usually on sale on its own or as part of a bundle pretty regularly too.

Saturation FX: Klanghelm SDRR. Very versatile and the price is silly low.
Authentic Tape Emulation: IK Multimedia. Nothing like their take sim. Hands down the best tape if you want real tape, not gimmicks.
10% off at Waves with link: https://www.waves.com/r/6gh2b0
Disclaimer - I get 10% as well.

I concur, Trash 2 is really good once you delve into it and learn it. Really good on kicks and bass because of it's multi-band and 2 stage saturation per band functionality, and all the other little tweaks you can do within each band.
Another couple of my favourites are PSP MixSaturator2 and Unfiltered Audio Indent 2.

Trash 2 is the only one you'll ever need.

I'll be the odd guy out, but give Cytomic's The Scream a try... it is hands down the best distortion i've heard from a plugin.

ReelBus 4 is very fairly priced and my personal favorite all things considered from demoing numerable tape plugins (Satin, Saturn(1), Ozone Stuff, TRacks, Waves, etc). For my needs ReelBus 4 is just amazing value and sounds beautiful. Good luck with it all!
