This has been free since September of last year, and as much as I want to like it, I can't get past its bland character. But it's got lots of presets.

Is there any way to download the dlls by themselves? Windows doesn't want me to execute the exe.

I did see mention that it has MPE support...although you won't be able to take advantage of that with it loaded in Reason...

I didn't thought, that it was sounding soooooo digital...guess this was my opionion. Its a good sounding synth with a ugly UI and crappy workflow imo.

Check it out!

https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/

Source code is here as well:
https://github.com/surge-synthesizer/surge
There was a thread about this synth when it became free.
Just be cautious - it has taken down Reason for me. Some patches just made everything crash. This plus the bad workflow/UI had me stop using it. But the sound was good.

Surge just a nice update, but don't worry it won't crash reason, it is 0% chance for that, because it is VST3 only now

Anyhow, if you use another VST3 capable DAW you can get it here: https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/
Probably the best/most capable free VSTi out there...

I have 1.7 working for me inside reason. On the facebook page there is a thread, one of the guys made a 1.7 vst2 version. Im busy working on a wavetable and fm preset pack for electronic music and will make it available as free download when it is done.
Im not sure if 1.7 vst 3 works in conjunction with Kushview as I havent tested it but am testing kushview
to run the vst midi devices and it seems to be working inside Reason 10.

Check out this thread on facebook there is guy who offered to build the vst 2 version , just DM him

Thanks for the heads up. Clearly a few interesting feature additions.

And thanks to RS to still not support VST3 :? :(

VST3 has been available since 2008 and VST2 was officially deprecated in 2013 and hard to get (although not impossible) since 2018... (source https://sdk.steinberg.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=557)

Yup it is time to support VST3...
