Hi. I got a dvd with Computer Music magazine and in it is a Rob Papen plug-in called RP distort CM. I read somewhere that the full version is different and has a load of algorithms but are the two essentialy the same? Anyone know? Thanks if you can tell me :).

Edit: a bit of hunting around and I found out the CM version has 5 algorithms and the full version has 33. But what does that mean exactly?

The CM version has these distortion algorithms: Amp/Cab Sim, Fuzz, Overdrive, Rectify and Two Band Overdrive. The list of distortion algorithms in the full version is listed in the below link:

Whether you need that much distortion depends on your music, I guess. I have the full version but have never really used it, I don't recall the presets being that great...

Thanks man. Much appreciated. I think I’ll just give it a miss. Seem to remember trying the RE when it came out and thinking it was crap. But again, thanks for taking the time.
