Hello everyone,

So I just learned I can't use my EWQL Gold Edition anymore on Reason 9.5 which makes me very sad. Now, as I do a lot of orchestral/symphonic compositions, I need a new orchestral VST set easy to use on Reason 9.5. So, I'm asking here for recommandations with good sounds (and if possible not expensive :[] , I'm not a professional there, I just do that time to time as a hobby)
At the moment, I'm composing an orchestration just using the orchestral set from Reason but I feel that EWQL sounds were better? Also it's more limited.

Thanks for your answers!

I've been looking into The Complete Orchestral Collection from Best Service

https://www.bestservice.com/complete_or ... ction.html

It's an older product that was once considered top-of-the-line, and is now offered for a ridiculously low price. From what I can tell, it sounds great and gets good reviews, but I haven't actually tried it myself yet.

While 190 EUR is not that much, it can be found even cheaper (165 EUR @Thomann) and sometimes even lower on sale.

MOTUs "Symphonic Orchestra" is kinda cool. It's a bit oldschool (not thousands of volume layers etc.) but it sounds nice to me, has most stuff you'd need for Orchestration (plus a bit more) and isn't too expensive - by now it should be even cheaper.

Plus you can run it standalone alongside Reason with EMI which I'd recommend, then you can give it any buffer size you want while Reason can stay snappy.

SPITFIRE AUDIO

I have spent quite of bit of money buying their products. I initially started buying the East West stuff then discovered their products and haven't looked back.

Some of their products can be bit on the pricey side. Unfortunately they don't have a composer cloud service.

I would recommend "Berlin Orchestra Inspire" from Orchestral Tools. It has almost everything you need to write orchestral music. It's a combination of their other libraries, although stripped down and optimized to not need as much computer resources. To me it's sound very good! Unfortunately it's not exactly super cheap... I was lucky enough to catch the intro price.

Try this one Larsa.

It sounds great to me but it took a long time to download.
It works with Kontact.

Best of luck.
Eoin.
