Technically, Reason DOES support audio-rate modulation. CV is calculated at SR/64 so running @ 192kHz you have over 3,000Hz to play with...Pulsar works at full rate.Loque wrote: ↑26 Jun 2018Whats wrong with the sound? The sound is awesome imo! If your CPU has enough power, just increase the sampling rate and you can hear an immense boost in sound quality. Reason does not support audio rate modulations and alone THIS is a reason why it cannot reach the quality. And you can NOT do everything in Reason that you can do in VCV and ofc vice versa.
Reason and VCV crash both on my side, depending on what i do and what i use. Mabye you should consider, that VCV is actually NOT released for production, still in development and for this it is incredible stable IMO. I have seen worse RE with more bugs.

Wow... 3khz on a samplerate of 192khz. I run VCV on 96khz and have 96khz audio rate.jimmyklane wrote: ↑26 Jun 2018Technically, Reason DOES support audio-rate modulation. Actually only VK-2 sports real audio rate modulation on a few parameters and if i use all oscilator, and a few modulations my computer gets crackling on 44khz.
Well, to stop this discussion, to think this beep beep of the video is THE sound quality of VCV is just wrong. But i know, if it's not dubstep fm noise, the sound quality is bad...

Dude! Don’t attack ME...I think VCV is incredible, and you can do far more with it in a modular aspect than you can with Reason. I just wanted to point out that Reason wasn’t totally devoid of the opportunity to modulate stuff that quickly.Loque wrote: ↑27 Jun 2018Wow... 3khz on a samplerate of 192khz. I’m going to try and make VCV work together with Reason somehow today, and if I still can’t then I’ll continue sampling sequences and phrases into my hardware and triggering THAT from Reason!

Here is a new release: vcvrack_0.6_vst2_bin-27Jun2018.7z
It took me all evening yesterday to fix all the global+static var references in VCV Rack (over 700!).
I also wrote a new build system that ditches GCC in favour of MSVC (I had to, mingw64 did not cut it).
This new release now supports multiple instances, and MIDI input.
(still no program chunks, though).
Here's a video (please excuse the shoddy playing, I apparently have two left hands today):
Next thing to do: Program chunks and 3rd party add-ons.
Last but not least: The VST plugin now also works in Reaper and Reason !
Ok. I am impressed! But not from VCV with 700 globals - this is a shame and pretty much 70's. You got to fork it or make a pull request!bsp wrote: ↑27 Jun 2018=)
