Highly rated plug for metering, especially if you're concerned about the current loudness standards. Easy to use and FREE:

I second this freebie - it's awesome. There's few freebie VST that I use, but this one is a gem!

Yeah great. Only want it to be scalable. It's huge on my MacBook Pro.

But it is superb. LUFS for the win!

It resizes fine on WIndows 10:

..or do you mean, you need it smaller than the smallest it goes?

What resolution is your monitor? Mine are both 1920 x 1200 and I find the default size too small. I always scale it bigger!

2880 x 1800 at 220 pixels per inch

I always switch back an forth between metering and editing. Short and integrated and peak are most inportant for me. Don’t care for the rest 😎

Interesting. And thus, this illustrates how different preferences to working can dictate feature requests which are fairly unique to each user. If I was working at 2880 x 1800, then the default size of Youlean Loudness Meter would be way too small for me. The fact that you find it too large - huge - is just puzzling to me! That said, my vision is sort of poor - I wear bi-focal glasses and like things to be full-screen.

I need meter in a corner, not overlapping my editing. Meters are ONLY to keep an eye on the level WHILE I make the adjustments.

Methods differ indeed. I don't care for visuals. Only 3 numbers: short term, integrated and peak. Can be super smal. The rest doesn't work for me at all. So I move this meter into a corner so I only see these 3 parts. The other visual stuff I don't need.

Yep, this is why I said:

I use dual monitors, so keeping Youlean open full-screen in one monitor while I work on the other works best for me. I know the author did this as a freebie from a KVR competition from back in the day. Maybe he'd be open to offering a smaller scale size? You should reach out to him.

Contact the author here: https://youlean.co/contact/

I've spoken to him before - a very nice chap! I asked (back in the day) whether he'd consider a Rack Extension version (this was before Reason 9.5). He said he'd love to but the RE SDK wasn't able to handle the sort of GUI/UX he'd want to do, so no can do. That said, now that Reason handles VST...

Anyway, reach out to him and ask if he'd consider adding a smaller scale size. I'm sure you're not the only one who works the way you do!

AARRRGH.. and once again, one of my biggest complaints about using VST rears its ugly head: no unified update system. :( Had I not seen your post, I would have not known that there was an update to this.

I wish Youlean (among others) would implement a notification ping in the plugin that tells you there's an update when you instantiate it (something along the lines of what Vengeance does for VPS Avenger would be perfect). Anyway, thanks for the heads up antic604! Updating now...

Hey guys, Youlean here.

I suggest that you use latest BETA v1.9.4. Latest beta supports true retina on mac plus you can hold CTRL and drag resizing handle to downscale/upscale GUI (can't be better than that) :D

Update notifications won't come any time soon because of technical reasons. It will be too time-consuming to add that so please follow my Facebook page or sign in to my newsletter. :D

Thanks Youlean - love you visualizer - probably the best available out there! Looking forward to 2.0.
