This is the best DX7 emulation in software imo. Free and open source.

It is really good, i use it as part of my setup when im making psytrance and now started incorporating
in techno productions. Plus there's 1000's of free patches.

How does it compare to PX-7?
In terms of sound quality? I cannot tell (I don't own both). But I'd dare to say: if you already have PX7, then you can skip DEXED. The beauty of DEXED lies in the possibility to use original DX7 soundbanks for free.

I've got PX7 and the Koshdukai 30k collection, so I think I'm sorted.

For me, I like the PX7 more because of the macro sliders. It's much easier for me to quickly get a sound I like.
And the ReFills by Navi Retlav and Nucleus Soundlab are fantastic

Thanks guys. I think this thread is inspiring me to dive back into PX-7 and do some sound design!

Brilliant.

I am yet to try a VST in Reason. This just might be my first.

Interestingly Dexed's GUI has the same colour as PX7.
