Sale on until August 15

http://www.soundtoys.com/product/

Just thought I'd mention it for anyone who doesn't know their plugins, I'm a big fan. Primal Tap in particular is a great echo device - even if you think you've got all the delay/echo plugins you need, check it out

Every now and then they've been dropping the price of one or another plugin even further. I recently picked up PanMan for $19 (regular price $129)

Soundtoys plugins are dope af, and at these prices they are a steal. i bought the whole bundle a while ago and haven't regret it for a single day. Ps Don't forget to put noise gate after some of these plugins(if you aren't bouncing), because they tend to make a noise over the whole channel track when when boosting drive/saturation, even when no sound is playing. Gives a bit of analogue feeling tho. Big fan of these top notch plugins. The effect rack is a cool addition when you buy the bundle. Its like having Vst's in Reasonformat. lol

I'm in the minority, but I demo'ed Soundtoys twice over the years and both times decided to pass. I have a couple of their plugins installed, but both I got for free and use occasionally. At a discount they're good plugins, but I guess for me they didn't have enough wow to replace what I already have.

But I'm not going to act like I didn't have a peek when I got the email about the sale

So I know that i don't essentially need any of these effects I have the kiloheartz toolbox and most air raid audio effects, also I have trash 2 so my question is

Is decapatator worth getting if you already have trash2 devastor2 elements distort and RP distort? I have more distortion units but can't think of them at this moment, does it offer a different sound? 200 is a lot for a distortion unit I mean 100 is a little better but with all the distortion that I own I honestly find scream 4 to work the best maybe it's just because I'm use to it lol

Decapitator is a nice plugin but probably not necessary considering all the distortion firepower you already have. I like Decapitator because of its simplicity, you can no doubt get the same results with something like Trash2 but it'll take you a lot of time & tweaking. I think of Trash2 as an experimental device, it's what I reach for when I want to get weird. Decapitator on the other hand is just a nice simple saturation unit, fast to work with, it has automatic gain compensation (why don't all distortion plugins have this??) and it sounds great. But you sound like you're pretty well sorted already

I am a total saturation nerd. I tried the Soundtoys which are great. But I prefer this one:
SDRR - saturation chameleon - https://klanghelm.com/contents/products/SDRR/SDRR.php

Very cheap.

Yes! I love that one, and their 3-in-1 compressor is a gem too. Klanghelm plugins are insane value for money overall

I had the same thought, I have a wide selection. And iv found that distortion unit that is simple is what I like. Which is why I mainly use elements distort or for multiband trash 2 can be easy. But you are 1000000% correct by saying it takes some tweaking. But with trash once you find something that works, it works well. I might get decapitator if it sounds equivalent/better than my distortion pedal for my korg synth lol but if I miss the sale I won't think much thanks for the Input :)

Yes using the conpressor too. Almost as good as the mcdsp moo, but more diverse.

I got SoundToys a few months back, and have been using them more and more. If I had to summarize why I like them, it's because it seems like I can very-easily get musical results with just tweaking a few knobs. (E.g. on Radiator, I just turn up the the volume and can start to get some great saturation/warmth).

I can compare this to some of the Waves plugins, where I feel I can also get good results, but I usually need to play with the settings a lot more to get something useful that sits well in a mix.

Anyway, just my 2 cents...

Radiator (includes Little Radiator) is on sale for $29. I have Little Radiator and find it really nice. I might grab the big one too.

Thanks, interesting. Not sure if it has anti-aliasing features. There was some discussion on it a while ago.

Since a few years I am using the Klanghelm SDRR which is superb:

It's like Radiator with more sonic possibilities. Highly recommended!

Beware: I just purchased Radiator, but received a serial number, that had already been used. I've email JRR, let's see how long it takes to fix.

^All good. Relevant to both threads. Let us know how you go. I was probably going to buy it from JRR tomorrow. (Still might, so we'll see how that goes)
