VST's not loading

Just started using 9.5 and excited to get my UA plugins working but none of my VST's are loading! I've double checked everything I can think of. Preferences are set to scan my VST folder. If Reason is supposed to scan my VST folder, I don't see it doing so at start-up. I'm not a beginner at this stuff but I'm pretty frustrated. Any help is much appreciated.

It's kind of flaky for me too. I have all my VSTs in one main root folder, which is the folder I specified in the preferences setting. It worked perfectly for a while, but occasionally Reason will just start ignoring some of the VSTs. For example, today I couldnt see any of my izotope plugins in the browser. I had to add the specific folder for the izotope VSTs in the preferences. Even though the parent folder was already there, and the rest of my VSTs were appearing. Yesterday reason decided it no longer saw my spectrasonics folder, so I had to explicitly add that folder in my preferences. This has now happened about four times at random. So in my preferences, I have my main VST folder listed, but then some of the subfolders are listed as well, which is a) redundant and b) troubling. I nearly crapped my pants when omnisphere just suddenly stopped appearing in the browser.

So my advice is to explicitly add folders where vst files are located if they aren't appearing. It's a pain in the butt, but it's the only workaround I have found so far.

I'll just add that this problem is getting worse for me. It seems like every time I start reason, some of my VSTs have disappeared from the browser. It now no longer sees ANY VST in my main VST folder! I have to manually specify EVERY specific subfolder that has the dlls in order for them to be recognized. Ouch.

I've added every folder I can think of, but I can't get Reason to see Amplitube 4, or MODO Bass.

It has all my T Racks plugins, ARC 2, and SampleTank 3 showing, so it isn't missing all of the IK brand. Cubase 8.5, ReValver 4, and Jam Origin MIDI Guitar 2 all had no problem scanning them.

Anybody know what I can do to get those 2 scanned? Windows 10 here...

This is an old trick that might work nicely.

In Windows, place a new folder in C:/Program Files/ called "Steinberg", then inside C:/Program Files/Steinberg/ place a new folder called "VstPlugins". Put any plugins you need in here. The spellings need to be exact, as this is the old default location for VST installations, and it works for Reason.

Peace

Report this to Propellerhead Tech Support; I have never seen any issue like this on any DAW. Although this is very likely to be an issue on your system, it should still be investigated.

Please note there is an extended response time just now due to the summer holiday period :)

Cheers

Reason can't load this vst on my machine. Can anyone try it? It used to work fine on Cubase/Reaper (a long time ago for me).

Also no luck with Waves free AudioTrack 9.2.0
NI Komplete is fine, no problem.

Seems like you need bitbridging for something like that.
Reason is 64 bit only by default, and does not support legacy vsts [Another reason I do not main vst format]

Nothing but trouble here thanks to IK Multimedia's MODO Bass and Amplitube 4 not loading. I added more folders to scan, and now I can't even get Reason to open, it crashes out every time during the scan.

Uninstalled, and reinstalled, same thing. What folder do I have to kill (PC/Windows 10) to get it to reset scanning?

HELP!!!!!!!!!

In Windows (10) try running Reason (or everything else) in as administrator. This fixed some Ik multimedia VSTs for me. Do that with your installations as well. I am trying the demo and it seems to work fine.
