What would you recommend? Its for use in dance music to get good robotic kind of sounds.

Leaning towards this one at the moment: http://www.image-line.com/plugins/Effects/Vocodex/

Any thoughts opinions?

I use free TAL Vocoder with NI Massive (wavetables) and got marvelous effects. Reason BV512 can't even compare because it sounds muffled.

You can try also Waldorf Lector, it's monster ;)

Hi I have the TAL vocoder, it works but only with input mode, it has internal mode, but because reason sees it as an effect it won't recieve midi data,
so i patched a thor in the Right input and a vocal track into left channel and play thor and you have classic vocoder, and for free

Vocodex is one I've always wanted. Which I still think it's the best from what I've seen. I'll eventually break down and buy it.
