I used Reason on 2 computers. Handy to make all the screenshots on one, then copy them over to the over. I'm trying to find where they're stored!

Anyone knows where I can find the screenshots directory on a Windows PC? Reason can't generate screenshots for any of my Waves plugins. They're showing up as a blank white panel.

I've personalized a few thumbnails myself. ;) Note: there's two thumbnails for each device - one for the browser, and one for the VST rack device. You have to take an initial screen grab (even if it turns out blank) to get the file name for them, though.

Thanks EL. I've resorted to creating my own image files for the Waves plugins. It's going to take me some time to generate screenshots for all of them but at least I now have a workaround until the Props gets this issue sorted out.

Ok, guys please help a non- screen-shot maker for my Vsts. What program are you using to do this???

IMac using Sierra OS.

Thanks!

Using built in OS X screenshot feature?

Press Shift + Left cmd + 4

then a crosshairs mousepointer should appear. Select e.g. upper left corner, then click left mouse button and keep it pressed while dragging to lower right corner. After releasing mouse button you'll get a screenshot image (png) on your desktop.

I didn't try the results for Reason - but at least it's a free and simple way for making screenshots.

Thanks, I figured it out after reading a bit more from others- it's built into the Vst at the top.

Just open the Vst and click on Keep Open, Automate, Remote, and the Screenshot.

Yours works too!

I was stomped earlier this morning, I was wondering "why is it blank". Then I figured it out, took me over an hour to do my waves gold, didn't know there was more plugins with in the bundle.

Oh, of course! My fault - I thought you were asking for a DIY solution (for stuff like the one's from EnochLight, or for plugins that still refuse to work with the Reason built in). The builtin function has been demonstrated by Mattias several times in videos, so I thought it is already commonly known.

Would be cool to have a button next to 'screenshot' to 'upload image' for those users who want to have a particular image for a plugin and for instances where the screenshot button doesn't work. Without the workaround of visiting the folder...

You can make your own for the time being. They're located here:

I changed some things up in my jBridgeM folder and for some reason (pun intended) my screenshots disappeared!!! This time around I made a separate folder and copied them there so I would have to spend another hour remaking them all.

Thanks for the info Geese! :puf_bigsmile:

Also, just to mention to anybody that may have trouble finding it... I had to go to my hidden library 'Caches' folder to find the reason folder that has the screenshots in them, it wasn't in the normal (unhidden) one.

*To anyone that doesn't know how to view your hidden library you can do it by going to your Desktop > Click Go in the top menu > Hold down the alt/option key and you'll see a Library option pop up... Now select/click it and you'll see your hidden Library window pop up... Now you'll be able to find your Caches then Reason folder with all your saved VST Screenshots in them*

Autogeneration would be helpful.

Studio One doesn’t auto-generate either. Do other DAW auto-generate their VST thumbnails?

Logic doesn't have thumbnails - just a massive list that's more difficult to work with. I think Live is the same. I can't imagine having to remember exactly what plugins are called and who made them. Reaching for them by look is so much easier. I really like how you can create a series of favourites lists in the Browser for different types (dynamics, eq, reverb etc) and then browse the different plugins like that.
