Music Will Save Us
So do they authorize and sync just like REs do?
Edit: I see they keep adding stuff too! Iris, Analog Strings, now there's Diva as well...

u-he, iZotope, output ... and I guess a lot more will come! As I said, they are going to. Would be foolish to assume, they are not doing it the right way, when doing it. Because we, as Reason users are spoilt
latest V12 on MacOS Ventura
Then again, with the trial button sitting there means prop shop addition will bleed over to VSTs now.

However it appears that VSTs don't require to offer a trial the way REs do. Most of the VST added so far do not offer a trial version. I hope they will sort this out at some point. I'm not going to spend 339€ on a plug in I didn't try first...ltbrunt00 wrote:Then again, with the trial button sitting there means prop shop addition will bleed over to VSTs now.

It looks like the trial will be different from vendor to vendor. VST's over 20GB may be to big to trail. Wait to you get to the 100GB VST instruments, pretty sure those would be to large or over a version with fewer sounds.Gaja wrote:However it appears that VSTs don't require to offer a trial the way REs do. They all seem to be mixed in together though, you'd have thought they would have separated them.

This was unexpected but I remember someone on this board mentioning the idea as a possibility. VSTs are in the shop along side Rack Extensions, see for yourself:

https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/diva/
I find it interesting that Props will be releasing their devices along side the best in the market.

Curious if they'll sync with authorizer like REs do.

Serum would have a 6 star ratingSeckin wrote:One thing sticks out though: VSTs in the shop don't have a rating bar. Maybe the Props don't want Serum to have a rating of 5 when Parsec has only 4.

Having the KHZ bundle in the shop is interesting. That's the only one so far available as both VST and RE.

I don't think sync all works - if you try to trial waves one knob series it simply directs you to the waves website.
TBH although I own several Waves plugins I never use them because their license system sucks if you want to use two computers. You have to remember to transfer the license through their special software every single time you want to use it one your second computer. If you were using it in the studio, forget to do this before you leave, and then want to use Waves on your laptop, you're out of luck - not possible.
It feels like something out of the 1990s.

Wow, didn't realize this until today.
The casual shopper might be drawn towards REs after getting VST sticker shock.

What's the point of putting vsts in the shop??? No other DAW company does this.

tobypearce is correct. Authorizer (and your account Sync All) only works with Rack Extensions and actual Reason authorization. VST go by whatever copy protection they incorporate (which is usually e-dongles and/or online account authorization). Really no big deal - just keep your account registrations and serials in your emails!tobypearce wrote:I don't think sync all works - if you try to trial waves one knob series it simply directs you to the waves website. .
