TSE Audio do some free Vst and Au versions of famous well known guitar pedals that would probably sound great to dirty up some of Reasons synths [emoji18]

http://www.soundhack.com/freeware/

At least for Windows, all the plugins are in two installers zipped up so you get both. Installed them to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2 which took me a bit to find. Like the site says, they were created because the author was teaching programming. Basic stuff there, but the interfaces are pretty nice.
If you ain't hip to the rare Housequake, shut up already.

Damn.

Who says it has something wrong. Take this for free

Freeverb3 is a signal processing library. This library includes many types of audio processing effects and signal generators. The linear feedback shift register (LFSR) maximum length sequence (MLS) generator, multiple types of high quality mono+stereo reverb effects, an multi slot impulse response processor, multiband hardknee+softknee compressor and limiter, a stereo enhancer, a limiter and a lot of types of infinite impulse respose (IIR) and finite impulse response (FIR) filters are available. The convolution reverb algorithm is highly optimized for x86 processors by using hand optimized codes of 3DNow!/SSE/SSE3/AVX/FMA/FMA4 (single precision), SSE2/SSE4/AVX/FMA/FMA4 (double precision). This algorithm can be used for zero latency realtime sound effect processing.
List of Main Effects in Freeverb3
Impulse Response Convolution Processor
Fast zero latency multithreaded algorithms optimized with SIMD.
Enhanced Freeverb
An original freeverb plate reverb algorithm with some enhancements.
Enhanced NVerb
A simple plate reverb algorithm in CCRMA clm library with stereospread and feedback enhancements.
Simple Tank Reverb with modulation
An original type of a plate reverb algorithm in the Lexicon 224 developed by David Griesinger. This reverb was introduced by Jon Dattorro in the AES article.
New Reverb based on Dattorro's Progenitor Reverb
A variant type of the allpass loop reverb, which is similar to the simple tank reverb.
New Reverb based on FDN zita Reverb
A variant type of the allpass FDN reverb.
Stereo Enhancer
A simple differential stereo enhancer.
Early reflection
An small early reflection framework, which includes some samples from the "About This Reverberation Business" article.
Softknee/Hardknee Compressor
A simple compressor with RMS/envelope detector.
Softknee/Hardknee Limiter
A simple limiter with RMS/envelope detector.
1st/2nd order LPF/HPF/BPF/BEF / BiQuad Filters
FIR LPF/HPF/BPF/BEF constructor
Linear Phase 3band frequency splitter
Linear phase multi band compressor
A linear feedback shift register (LFSR) maximum length sequence (MLS) generator.
Sampling Rate Converter
A wrapper of libsamplerate.
GNU Savannah and Freecode Project Pages

To anyone reading this:

Do you know who Voxengo is? If not, look at this page: http://www.voxengo.com/group/free-vst-plugin-download/

I've been using some of their plugs for close to a decade. Wonderful products, and they're free. They're not crap-ware or remotely buggy or unstable.

In fact, Voxengo SPAN and the Spectral Analyzer on the page are two things Reason users used to beg for. Voxengo has had free plugs like that for years. I was using SPAN had to be 7 or 8 years ago.

Voxengo has good free plugs, for sure.

**What's scary is how feature filled SPAN is as well as how fast it is.

Yup.

Gulale has the link in his OP at the top. I wanted to second him on that, or at least offer up a "hey, I've used these and they're good" word for anyone on the fence about freebies.

Thanks, Gulale! Great list :puf_bigsmile: :reason:

Dub Machine - Diffuse
DIFFUSE is inspired by classic hardware delay and reverb effects from the 1970’s and 1980’s. It takes a Surreal Machines look at the frontier between delays and reverbs.
DIFFUSE is an analog/digital hybrid - an analog modeled delay fused with a classic reverb design used in early digital units.

You can download DIFFUSE for FREE until June 8th. After that you can get it for 49€ or as part of the bundle with Modnetic for 99€

As a person who loves reggae that plugin is pure awesomeness. Thanks Boss
you might also consider checking Nomad Factory oilcan which is my favorite.

Never tried the Oilcan on it's own. I've been using Nomad's ECHOES for a few years, and it has an oilcan setting - not a bad echo. Never tried the oilcan one by itself

I like that and the PulseTech "Pultec style" EQ they have.

"As a person who loves reggae that plugin is pure awesomeness" ~ I will have to try this now, haha - great endorsement  :reason:

I found the mwaveshaper, it's like FL studios waveshaper! Looks awesome, you can draw your distortion type, does anyone know of any filter vsts that let you draw your filter curves?

Don't knock free VSTs... I've seen plenty of masterclasses from respected producers who swear by some of them.
Ambient garage vibes.

If you want a bunch of free plugins - some of which are pretty good - buy a Computer Music Magazine. Shed loads of stuff ready and willing to be used in Reason :D .

Grum.
