Still one of my favorites, just not top three. Could be top 5, definitely top 10!

I think you could maybe hold off on your tally updates? Maybe just create and share a Google Sheet if you want to keep track?

As good as Antidote is, Dune its big brother does what it does easily (plus a lot more).

But if you want to stay within the Rack Extension ecosystem, Antidote it is

Phase Plant: because it is the most powerful.
Grain: because its take on grain+spectral synthesis is still extra enjoyable in 2023.
Pigments 4: because it is always upgraded and sounds are awesome...
BTW Phase Plant not so powerful unfortunately. Although i tried it last time it seems in 21, but not sure if changed a much since then. For example, audio modulation can't was assigned nor to effects patameters, nor to other modulators. Also remembered somehow limited ADSR (with no ability of long release). And no granular mode in sample osc.

When I use to work in Reason, Antidote was by far my most used RE synth.

Indeed, audio rate generators can only be assigned to operators.
Modulations are actually even richer than before so that you even have wavetables for LFOs now. You also have curves and many many other stuffs.
But you are right also about the granular engine even if you can mimic it with the modulators.
Well PhasePlant is certainly not perfect but we can agree that the effect section is crazy, the flexibly of oscillators is also awesome and the capacity to modulate everything with everything (but not audiorate, you are right) is very rare.

In fact in pure raw power, the "grid" from Bitwig is unmatched. You get audiorate everywhere including modulations, infinite effects, granular synthesis, and modulators are even richer than Phase Plant. And the spectral synthesis is just unbelievable. Running circle around every other synth i know.
It is just that as it is so powerful, the workflow is complex and intimidating...
It is not a "fun" synth.

Well, to be fair, our "good old synths" are being improved continously, often for free.
Pigments with a significative upgrade to v4 for free, Phase Plants will soon get granular synthesis and got an upgrade to v2 that was very significant.
Succeeding companies are getting more respectful of their customers with this long life cycle approach.

I only use REs for instruments so I'm gonna pick among those.
I have no real go-to synths actually. I change synths constantly. But if I were to pick 3 right now it would be:

Europa
Expanse
Legend

They are all easy to use and also very rewarding to make patches with. Easy to get good results with.

WBL5515 Dual Triple-Loop Osc for sure. If you combine that with Valhalla Supermassive, it controls the tides and generates zero point energy.

Are you talking about this one?

What kind of sound do you advise it for? I see it does RingMod.
